Riverside City College gave head coach Michelle Daddona her 600th career victory on Saturday with a 5-4 victory over the College of the Canyons.
The Tigers, who settled for a split on the day after dropping the first game 8-4, move to 3-8 on the year, while the Cougars sit at 10-3 overall.
RCC scored first in the nightcap after Alysha Kendrick (1-for-3) knocked a two-out, RBI single to send Karly Romero (3-for-4) home from second.
The visitors increased their lead to 4-0 with three runs in the second. Abigail Baldwin led off with a free ticket to first before the Tigers loaded the bases with two outs. Carissa O'Neil (1-for-4) singled to send two runners in before Madyson Aguilara (2-for-4) drilled a base hit to send another runner in.
Canyons tied the game up with one run in the third and three in the fourth, but Riverside took back the lead in the top of the seventh. With one runner on and two outs, Aguilara stepped up to the plate and blasted a double to center field, allowing Romero to score the go-ahead run.
The Cougars looked to battle back and managed to put a runner on base with two outs, but Giselle Flores Morales got the final out with a strikeout.
In the opener, RCC finished with nine hits with Flores Morales leading the charge with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate and six innings in the circle with two strikeouts.
