Riverside City College opened its three-game Orange Empire Conference series with No. 13-ranked Cypress College on Tuesday and kept it close but couldn't walk away victorious.
The Tigers slip to 9-25 overall and 4-12 in the OEC, while the Chargers improve to 23-11 on the year, 11-5 in conference.
RCC finished with six hits in the game, led by Jasmine Lemus with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.
The Tigers and Chargers continue the series on Thursday, this time on Riverside's turf. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Evans Park.
