RCC Falls to SCC
Riverside City College closed out its three-game series with Santiago Canyon College at home on Friday, falling 10-3.
The Tigers slip to 6-15 on the year and 1-5 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hawks improve to 10-15 overall and 2-4 in conference.
RCC started strong and scored three runs in its first chance at the plate. Karly Romero (1-for-3) led off with a base hit up the middle before Aerin Anselmini (2-for-4) joined her on base with a single of her own.
The pair came home on a Madyson Aguilara double, who then traded places with Alysha Kendrick (1-for-4) off a double to left field, giving the Tigers the early 3-0 lead.
Momentum shifted in the top of the third, however, as Santiago Canyon plated five runs to take the lead, before adding another two in the fifth and three in the sixth to seal the 10-3 victory.
Riverside turns right around to take on No. 4-ranked Mt. San Antonio College on the road on Saturday, with first pitch set for 1 p.m.
