Bio
Clarence Carter is a Hall of Fame collegiate baseball player and a driven, accomplished travel ball softball coach with more than 15 years of coaching experience. He has a proven track record of developing athletes for success on and off the field. As a leader within one of the nation’s most prestigious travel ball organizations, he is passionate about teaching the game, building confidence, and helping athletes maximize their potential to pursue college recruitment opportunities and lifelong skills.
Carter earned his MBA from the University of Redlands, where he was nominated by his peers and inducted into the Whitehead Leadership Society for his outstanding leadership. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Seattle University, where he captained the baseball team, earned MVP honors, and was inducted into the Seattle University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Carter was also honored by his hometown as an inductee into the Brawley High School Hall of Fame for both baseball and football, recognizing his standout multi-sport career.
In addition to his collegiate achievements, Carter competed for over 20 years in men’s fastpitch softball, further sharpening his knowledge of the game and reinforcing his lifelong commitment to competing at the highest level.
Carter's coaching career includes two seasons at St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, CA (2017–2019) as Assistant Varsity Softball Coach, specializing in pitching and outfield development. There, he helped lead the program to a 38-17 record, a 2018 League Championship, and CIF Semi-Final and Quarter-Final appearances. His pitching staff led the Del Rey League in ERA, with multiple pitchers earning All-League, MVP, and All-CIF honors.
Currently, Carter is serving his 13th year as Co-Head Coach of the Corona Angeles 18U/16U Slye/Tyson teams, overseeing 45–50 athletes year-round. Over that span, he has consistently helped build nationally competitive teams, guiding them to numerous Top 8 finishes at the national level, including appearances in two national championship games
Athletics run deep in the Carter family. His wife, Bettina, played basketball at Seattle Pacific University; his son, Trey, played baseball at Bethune-Cookman University; and his daughter, Nia, played softball at the University of Iowa (2023 All American) and the University of Arkansas, and is currently a member of the Puerto Rican National Team.
