No. 5-ranked Riverside City College opened Orange Empire Conference action Wednesday afternoon with a 13-5 loss at Orange Coast College.
The Tigers slip to 6-4 overall and begin conference play with a 0-1 mark, while the Pirates improve to 9-5 on the year and remain undefeated in OEC action with a 2-0 record.
Isabella Stolpp scored twice for RCC and assisted on two other goals. Riverside also saw goals from Yosra Elseifi, Angelina Beall, and Madison Faulkner.
Alyssa Cortez made nine saves in the cage to try to keep the Tigers in the game.
RCC heads to the Delta Women's Invitational this weekend, hosted by San Joaquin Delta College. The Tigers first face Diablo Valley College on Friday at 9:15 a.m. before challenging the host Mustangs at 11:30 a.m.
