RCC Roars Past Fullerton for 10th Consecutive Win
No. 4-ranked Riverside City College kept rolling with its 10th-straight win, beating No. 7-ranked Fullerton College 17-7 Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers improve to 16-4 overall and 2-1 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hornets slip to 14-8 on the year, 2-2 in conference.
RCC scored more than half of its goals in the first half, including seven in the first quarter alone. Angelina Beall and Isabella Stolpp each scored four goals, while Presley Burrell added three goals and Brooklyn Wagner contributed two goals and five assists. Keira Casey and Brianna Hoover rounded out the scorers for the Tigers, each netting a goal.
Fullerton scored first, less than 30 seconds into the contest, but Riverside exploded to score seven unanswered goals to take the lead and never looked back.
Alyssa Cortez made 11 saves in the cage for Riverside to pick up her 11th win of the year.
The Tigers head to the Long Beach Mini Tournament on Friday, first taking on the host Vikings at 9:15 a.m.
