Riverside Scores Big at Cypress
Fourth-ranked Riverside City College dominated a 20-9 victory over Cypress College Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers improve to 17-6 on the year and 3-1 in the OEC, while the Chargers drop to 6-12 overall, 0-5 in conference.
Ten different Tigers scored in the contest, led by Yosra Elseifi's five goals on five shots. Angelina Beall and Isabella Stolpp each scored three goals, while Marianna Smith and Keira Casey added a pair of goals. Lily Helberg, Kaia Boone, Brianna Hoover, Natalia Jaime, Madison Faulkner also got in on the scoring action.
Beall got things going with a goal less than 15 seconds into the contest and Riverside never looked back. The Tigers jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Cypress could even get on the board.
Ella Sheldon made nine saves in three quarters in the cage for the Tigers to help preserve the lopsided win.
Riverside heads to the Long Beach Tournament this weekend before closing out Orange Empire Conference regular-season action next Wednesday at Saddleback College.
