Tigers Continue String of Lopsided Victories

No. 4-ranked Riverside City College continued its string of lopsided wins with a 17-10 victory over Diablo Valley College and a 19-8 win over fifth-ranked Cuesta College at the Cuesta Tournament Friday.
The Tigers improve to 13-4 overall, while DVC slipped to 4-4 and Cuesta sits at 13-7 on the year.
Against Diablo Valley, Yosra Elseifi was on fire and scored 10 of the Tigers' 17 goals, stole the ball five times, and drew three ejections. Angelina Beall and Isabella Stolpp each rattled in two goals, while Kaia Boone, Keira Casey, and Brooklyn Wagner also got in on the scoring action.
In the ranked matchup with Cuesta, Beall led Riverside with six goals, including the first two of the game, to help RCC open on a 2-0 lead halfway through the first quarter. Elseifi added five goals and assisted five others, while Madison Faulkner also scored five times in the game, including three-straight goals late in the fourth to all but seal the victory. Boone, Stolpp, and Wagner each had a goal as well for RCC.
Alyssa Cortez made nine saves in the cage to help preserve the victory for the Tigers.
Riverside closes out the Cuesta Tournament on Saturday, first taking on Chaffey College at 8:10 a.m. before closing out the tournament with Las Positas College at 12:50 p.m.
