No. 4-ranked Riverside City College took on top-ranked Long Beach City College in the SoCal Regional semifinals and dropped a 14-1 result. The Tigers followed with a 14-8 loss to No. 3-ranked Orange Coast College in the third place game, securing the fourth seed in the South for the 3C2A State Championship next week.
RCC drops to 22-11 on the year, while Long Beach sits at 36-2 overall, and OCC moves to 25-9 on the year.
Madison Faulkner scored the lone goal against the Vikings off an assist from Angelina Beall.
In the nightcap, Isabella Stolpp scored four goals, while Yosra Elseifi, Beall, Faulkner, and Presley Burrell also got in on the scoring with a goal each.
Alyssa Cortez posted 16 saves on the day.
Riverside heads to Merced College for the 3C2A State Championship next week and will face the No. 1 seed from the North, Sierra College, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
