Riverside Drops Two to Ranked Foes

No. 4-ranked Riverside City College took on two tough opponents to close out the Battle at the Beach tournament Saturday, falling 17-5 to No. 1-ranked Long Beach City College and 12-10 to No. 3-ranked Orange Coast College.
The Tigers sit at 19-7 on the year, while the Vikings improve to 28-1 on the year, and the Pirates move to 21-6 overall.
Angelina Beall led the Tigers with two goals in the first game against Long Beach. Yosra Elseifi, Keira Casey and Brooklyn Wagner also scored for RCC.
In the second game, Riverside battled back from a three-goal hole to pull within one, 11-10, off an Elseifi goal with just over a minute left to play. The Tigers couldn't hold off the Pirates, however, giving up a goal in the final 60 seconds to concede the 12-10 loss.
Beall scored four goals against the Pirates, while Elseifi added three goals. Isabella Stolpp rattled in two goals and Presley Burrell rounded out the scorers with a goal for RCC.
Riverside closes out the Orange Empire Conference on Wednesday, heading to Saddleback College for a 4:15 p.m. matchup.
